Bed Pads vs Adult Diapers: Which One Do You Need?
Should you buy bed pads or adult diapers? Many families buy the wrong one first. Then they buy the other one a week later.
Short answer: adult diapers protect the person. Bed pads protect the bed. Most people caring for someone in bed use both. The diaper holds the urine. The bed pad catches leaks and protects the mattress.

How to save money
Use the diaper for the person and one bed pad under them. Change the pad when it is wet. That way you change fewer sheets and wash less. Buying pads by the bale also cuts the price per pad.

Ask three questions. Does the person stay in bed most of the day? Are the leaks heavy or light? Can they reach a toilet with help?
If they stay in bed and leaks are light, bed pads alone may be enough. If leaks are heavy, use a diaper and lay a bed pad under them. If they can move with help, a commode chair cuts the number of diapers you need.
